Indonesia Insulated Roof Panels: Industrial RFQ Guide

For an Indonesia warehouse, factory or food-processing roof enquiry, specify the panel system before asking for a price: roof area, building use, design location, support layout, requested core and face materials, coating/color, destination port and required documents. An insulated aluminum roof panel can be considered where low weight and a combined weathering/insulation assembly suit the project, but its U-value, fire classification, wind resistance, corrosion suitability, SNI applicability, price and delivery date cannot be assumed from a generic description. They require the exact panel build-up, test evidence, drawings and project review.

What an Indonesia roof-panel RFQ should decide first

Indonesia has varied local weather and site conditions. BMKG publishes rainfall and climate information, including long-term changes in annual and heavy-rain indicators. That is a reason to obtain the project location, roof geometry, drainage and penetration details before selecting joints, flashings or fasteners; it is not evidence that one panel profile suits every island or building.

How to compare an insulated aluminum panel proposal

Do not compare a quote only by nominal thickness or a headline material name. Ask each supplier to identify the complete construction and the evidence behind it. The Indonesian National Standardization Agency (BSN) lists building-envelope energy-conservation standards, including SNI 6389:2020, in its catalogue. Whether a particular roof, building type or product falls within an applicable requirement must be confirmed locally; inclusion in a catalogue is not product approval.

  1. Start with the roof system. Supply roof area, slope, purlin arrangement, openings, gutters and interfaces. A panel alone does not establish a watertight roof.
  2. Separate thermal from structural questions. Request a U-value only with the defined build-up and test/calculation basis. Request span or wind information only with support conditions, fixing system and design actions.
  3. Specify the environment. State site location, nearby marine or industrial exposure, wash-down/chemical exposure and dissimilar-metal interfaces. The proposed fasteners, sealants, flashings and drainage must be reviewed together.
  4. Review compliance as a document workflow. Give the local designer/importer the exact proposed section, data sheets and reports. They should confirm required standards, language, marking and import documentation before an order is released.
  5. Compare commercial scope line by line. Confirm whether the offer includes panel, accessories, packing, loading, inspection, freight or insurance. Incoterm, port, commodity classification, duty and clearance depend on the transaction and should be checked with the appointed importer/broker.

Reflective color is not a substitute for insulation or detailing

The U.S. Department of Energy identifies solar reflectance, retention of reflectance and thermal emittance as useful roof-surface purchasing criteria. Those measures can inform a coating discussion, but they do not prove the thermal performance of an untested panel or a completed building. For a hot or wet project, use the roof build-up, seams, penetrations, air/water control layers, ventilation strategy and HVAC design in the engineering review. Ask for measured values and their test method rather than accepting a color name or a generic “heat proof” claim.

Indonesia buyer FAQ

Can you quote a U-value from thickness alone?

No. A defensible U-value needs the exact panel construction, material properties, joints and calculation or test basis. The designer should confirm whether the result addresses the project requirement.

Is a PIR, PUR or mineral-wool core automatically suitable for my project?

No. Core selection must account for the required fire strategy, thermal target, environment, panel construction and locally applicable rules. Ask for evidence tied to the offered build-up, not a generic material statement.

Can a supplier promise SNI compliance or customs treatment?

Not from this page. Product applicability, conformity route, import classification, origin documents and duty treatment need confirmation by the Indonesian importer, project team and relevant authority or broker for the actual transaction.

What should I send before asking for a delivered price?
