Supplier Checks Before You Compare Price
1. Ask for a section drawing
The drawing should identify the profile, effective width, joint, fastening zone and accessory interfaces. A brochure image is not a substitute for the construction being quoted.
2. Match every technical claim to a document
Thermal, fire, span, wind, coating and corrosion claims depend on the exact product build-up and test method. Request the report scope and sample construction; do not assume that a general standard name proves the offered panel.
3. Approve a physical sample or control sample
Use the sample to confirm visible profile, colour, surface finish, joint fit and agreed measurements. Record which characteristics are visual checks and which require laboratory or material documentation.
4. Define inspection before production
The purchase order should state which dimensions, materials, packing and documents are checked, who may inspect, and what happens when the agreed specification is not met.
5. Compare the same commercial basis
FOB and CIF quotations are not directly comparable. Confirm whether accessories, protective film, pallets, export packing, ocean freight, insurance and local charges are included.
